GOOGLE FORMS

Google Forms is part of Google Drive. Create surveys and forms to collect information and data. Sign in with your Google account at drive.google.com. Click Create and choose Form. Pick out a theme, give it a title, and add questions. When done, click View Live Form. Copy this page's web address to share with others. Use qrcode.kaywa.com or tinyurl.com to make the URL easy to get to.

GOOGLE PRESENTATIONS

Google Presentations is part of Google Drive. You can make slideshows that students can scroll through on an PC or iPod. Sign in with your Google account at drive.google.com. Click Create and choose Presentation. Choose and theme and give it a title and place text and images on the title slide. Add as many slides as you'd like. When done, click the Share button. Copy the web address shown to share with others. Use qrcode.kaywa.com or tinyurl.com to make the URL easy to get to.

QR CODES

Use the iPod app i-nigma or the website webqr.com to scan QR codes.

Create your own QR code at qrcode.kaywa.com or goqr.me.

Turn any video or image in an iPod's Photo Library into a QR Code with Dropbox:

  • Log into the Dropbox app on iPod. Click the + and choose files from your Photo Library to copy to your Dropbox.
  • Each file in Dropbox can have a public link. Get this link by clicking the Share button in the app, right-clicking the file if you have Dropbox installed on your PC, or clicking the Share Link icon from the website.
  • Paste think link into  qrcode.kaywa.com or goqr.me.

VIDEOLICIOUS

Use an iPod to make a 60 second documentary-style video. Queue photos and videos from the Photo Library and then narrate over them. The resulting video can be saved to the Camera Roll.

FUNNY MOVIES

The Funny Movie Maker app allows you to choose a photo. Then you use the Scissors tool to select an area for the mouth. Then record your own mouth talking. Videos can be up to 30 seconds in length. Be careful, this app really tries to get you to buy extra features.

On PCs use Blabberize.com to upload to photo, cut out a mouth, and make it move as you talk.

SPLICING

Use the Splice app to combine videos together into a longer video. This can help you get around Funny Movie Maker's and Videolicious' limited recording length.

DROPITTO.ME

  • Create an account at Dropitto.me and link it to your Dropbox account.
  • You can pick out a URL like dropitto.me/tonyv and a password.  Pick out an easy password to type.
  • Give the web address to students (or make into a QR code) so that they can upload videos to your Dropbox from iPods.
  • This does not work for photos since iPod gives photos the same name, causing Dropbox to overwrite old images.

 LINO CANVASES

  • Lino is a website for creating online canvases where you can invite others to post stickies or images.
  • Log into Linoit.com.
  • Name your canvas. Names without spaces make better URLs.
  • Choose or upload a background.
  • Select Everyone may post stickies .
  • Uncheck all details except Allow guest to post sticky
  •  Now your canvas is ready to go. Student click the Photo icon to upload an existing image to the canvas.
  • Learn lots more about Lino in Tony's video

TASK CARDS

Task cards are used in centers, stations, menus, challenges, and for what-to-do-when-you're-done activities. PowerPoint is great software for making task cards. Infuse technology in your task card by using tinyurl.com, QR codes, videos, collaborative documents, Lino, and/or many of the other apps and websites we've explored together.
