The International Society for Technology in Education Conference (ISTE) happened in Denver last week. While I didn’t attend this year, the event drew a crowd of more than 15,000 educators.

Picture Playbacks 📸

Live Photos on Apple devices capture 1.5 seconds of video before and after you press the shutter button. You can quickly stitch together multiple Live Photos into a video—no additional app is required.

Here’s how. In the Photos app on iPhone or iPad, go to Albums → Live Photos → Select → choose some photos → ⋯ → Save as Video.

Each Live Photo is a 3 second video clip, and the clips are played in succession. This can make for great way to visually recap an activity or trip or to celebrate a person or group.

Convert to Canva 🔀

Import a Google Slides presentation into Canva and continue editing it with Canva's tools, elements, styles, and apps.

From your Canva Projects screen, click Add New → Import from App → Google Drive.

Docs Doctor 👩‍⚕️

You can "hack" the end of Google Docs URL to make a “Preview” link where the content of the doc is presented as a streamlined webpage. Simply change /edit in the URL to /preview.

A “Preview” link does not show the document outline (the list of headings on the left side). But, you can replace /edit with /preview?rm=demo so that the outline is displayed. Thanks to Wanda Terral for this tip and for making the graphic below.
