You can watch a short video tutorial from Apple that shows you how to download audio to an iPod touch. Like other Click Wheel iPods, you'll use iTunes to manage the music on an iPod touch.
Besides getting audio from CDs and the iTunes store, you can download audio from the web. Once downloaded, drag and drop the file from your desktop to an iTunes playlist. iPods can play audio in these file formats: MP3 (.mp3), AAC (.m4a), AIFF (.aif), WAV (.wav), and Apple Lossless (.m4a).
